4 Sessions to Support Children of the Planet - October 29-30 2011

Saturday 10:30 - 12:30: YOGA BASICS - Kids & Whole Family ! Learn the basics of breathing, alignment, transition and flow in this introductory workshop style yoga session. Learn how to assess your needs, and the needs of your practice through variation. Beginners of all ages are welcome, as well as experienced practitioners.

Saturday 1:30 - 3:30: LEARNING ASHTANGA - Kids & Whole Family ! Ashtanga Yoga is the traditional style of postures that are linked by a series of fluid movements. Learn how to adapt principles of breath, energy and focus to any level of practice. This workshop is open to all levels and modifications will be explained in detail.

Sunday 10:30 - 12:30: EASY YOGA FOR HAPPINESS - Kids & Whole Family ! Enjoy heart opening postures, great music and simple sequences designed to amuse the child in all of us. Through stories, creative movement and yoga postures, this session inspires us to connect with our true nature and to the universal energy that connects us all.

Sunday 1:30 - 3:30: PARTNER YOGA in 2’s or 3’s ! - Kids & Whole Family ! Experience yoga postures with new and old friends in this fun partner yoga practice for all ages. Learn how to leverage body weight and balance, how to assist one another in poses, and how to enjoy yoga with a group or friends or family members.

ALL SESSIONS by DONATION (tax receipt for contribution $25.00 +)
EVERY $ GOES TO ONEXONE FOUNDATION

Karma 4 Kids – Giving Back; This is a unique event to be held on October 29-30 2011. During this session open to the general public of ages 10-110, beginners to experienced yogis can attend yoga classes donated by certified and recognized teachers. The funds raised from Karma 4 kids will support a foundation to help children in need. The 4 sessions will be held in the morning and afternoon in a room exclusively reserved for this purpose. Participants of Karma 4 kids will also have access to the exhibit hall.

ONEXONE is a non-profit initiative based in Canada and the United States with the mission to preserve a basic quality of life for children locally and globally: Founded by Joelle Berdugo-Adler, a Montrealer, ONEXONE is dedicated to helping create a world where children can live safely and with dignity; every child has clean water to drink, enough food to eat, where no child suffers or succumbs to illness due to improper or insufficient medical care, where school and learning are a right and not a privilege and where every kid has the chance to just be a kid. www.onexone.org

Yasmin Fudakowska-Gow has taught yoga for nearly a decade. In 2010, she completed 108 days of 108 daily sun salutations and broke the Guinness World Record for the longest yoga marathon lasting 32 hours. Also a writer, activist, and ayurvedic practitioner, Yasmin has toured Canada with David Suzuki, instructed professional athletes, and released a yoga DVD series. She leads a successful yoga teacher training program in Montreal and her passion is to share the healing properties of yoga and inspire others to reach beyond expectation.
