Pippa Cohen

Pippa Cohen has been working in the Contemporary Art world for twenty years, most recently for 12 years as a curator for a large private collection in New York focusing on young established and emerging artists. She is also a member of the Curatorial Committee of The Water Tank Project, a groundbreaking public art event that will take place in 2013 across all five-boroughs of New York City. Designed to raise awareness for water shortages around the world, The Water Tank Project will wrap up to 100 of the City’s iconic water tanks in art by renowned artists on the subject of water. Her involvement in this project indicates Pippa’s interest in art for advocacy and public art as a tool to change the world.

Pippa spent two years producing events for non-profit arts organizations and was the Project Director on Artists For Haiti, an auction held at Christie’s September 21, 2011, co-founded by David Zwirner and Ben Stiller, which raised almost $14M for educational and health initiatives in Haiti. Pippa has overseen numerous installations and exhibitions beginning at Gagosian Gallery in 1993 up to and including today. A passionate, accomplished and educated art collector herself, she is equally committed to sharing her art experience in meaningful ways. Pippa understands the importance of bringing awareness to global issues affecting a broad audience and benefitting those in need.
