General Mills icon brands arrived in Canada in 1954 with the launch of Betty Crocker and Cheerios. In the years that followed their whole family of icon brands made their way on to grocery store shelves and into Canadian homes.

General Mills Canada launched the Champions For Healthy Kids Grant Program in 2006. The goal of the General Mills Champions for Healthy Kids grants program is to encourage communities across Canada to improve the eating and physical activity patterns of young people ages 2 through 20.
